Master’s in Structural Engineering 2018-2019:

The Division of Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering Informatics at Stellenbosch University offers a two year research-based Master of engineering program, for which research topics for 2018-2019 can be found here.

• Research fields include construction materials, structural and computational mechanics, structural durability and sustainability, bridge engineering, risk and reliability, civil engineering informatics, statics and dynamics, fire structural engineering and seismic engineering.

• Preparatory modules to be followed during the program are Continuum mechanics and finite element method, Structural Dynamics, Advanced structural concrete design, Advanced structural steel design, and an elective from a range of modules in geotechnical, materials, mechanics, structural reliability and engineering management.

• Consider the relatively low cost of tuition, accommodation and living in Stellenbosch, South Africa, estimated to  be about ZAR 120 000, i.e. roughly US$ 9 250 per annum.

• Stellenbosch University is a world class university, currently at number 364 on the QS Ranking and 35 amongst BRICS countries, i.e. in the top 1-2% internationally.
